Undefeated 'Firecracker' Earns Fifth Win
Three-year-old trotter P Cs Firecracker kept his career record perfect on Friday at Western Fair Raceway winning for the fifth time in his 10th race conditioning assignment

With Curtis Clements working out a second over trip for the 3-5 favourite, P Cs Firecracker shaved more than two full seconds off his lifetime mark with his 2:01.4 triumph.
P Cs Firecracker settled into third place early and moved second over behind the parked out Economic Change (Alfie Carroll) after the :29.4 opening quarter. The leading Dee Dee Pucker (Pat Shepherd) fought off Economic Change past the half in 1:01.1, but was then confronted by P Cs Firecracker, who went three-wide as the headed to three-quarters in 1:31.3. P Cs Firecracker applied heavy pressure to the tempo-setter around the final turn and eventually forged ahead down the lane to score by two lengths. Dee Dee Pucker stayed for second while Abes My Uncle (Wayne Henry) rallied wide for third.
Trainer-breeder Peter Clements trains, bred and co-owns the Amigo Hall-Promising Spark gelding with Amy Clements of Dobbinton, Ont. P Cs Firecracker has banked $19,500 so far in his career.
Earlier on the card another promising trotter kept her own career record perfect while making her second start. Daylon Miracle, the three-year-old half-sister to millionaire trotter Daylon Magician, cleared to command after the opening quarter and front-stepped her way to a 2:01.3 score for driver Dave Wall and trainer, owner and breeder David Lemon of Komoka, Ont. The 1-5 favourite lowered her mark by one full second.
