ORC Rules On Giroux Appeal

On Thursday, April 26, the Ontario Racing Commission released its ruling into the appeal of horseman Sebastien Giroux, who was appealing a $5,000 fine, one-year suspension and two-year probation

.

The ruling states that the ORC panel hearing the appeal denied the appeal, and confirmed the same penalty as per Standardbred Official Rulings SB 44343 and SB 44344:

  1. $5,000 fine;
  2. One-year suspension (to conclude on January 15, 2013);
  3. Two-year probation (January 16, 2013 to January 15, 2015 inclusive).
