March Hambletonian Society Stakes Payments Due

Off and racing at The Meadowlands

The Hambletonian Society reminds horsepeople that payments are due for many of the 161 races currently administered by the Society on March 15, 2025.

Payment forms are always available at https://www.hambletonian.com/formsinfo or by calling the office for fax and email options. All the forms on the website are pdf fillable. Just type in the form, print as many as you need and return the form with your payments.

Along with cheques, ACH bill pay and wire transfers, The Hambletonian Society accepts credit cards for stake payments, which are subject to a 3 percent service fee which will be added to the payment total.

In March, a majority of the payments for two-year-olds in 2025 have their first payment due, whether that be for a stakes race or early closing race. The exception to that would be the Breeders Crown, Peter Haughton, Jim Doherty, and Kentuckiana Stallion Management Pace & Trot which had their first payments due on February 15.

As a reminder, also due in March for two-year-olds is the Future Eligibility payment for the Breeders Crown in the year 2026. This payment of $500 keeps horses eligible to make the regular payments into the Breeders Crown as a three-year-old next year. Two-year-olds who are sired by Breeders Crown nominated stallions and are not currently eligible to the Breeders Crown can be supplemented to the Breeders Crown in 2025 by making a payment of $1,500 USD this month.

The second payment for many of the three-year-old and Open races that we service are due this March. This includes payments for the new three-year-old races services in 2025 (The Catholic Cowboy). Updated racing conditions for the races we service, as well as all of the different stakes taking place in 2025, can be found on the USTA website.

Please be advised of the Stallion Restriction Condition that applies to the Cane Pace/Shady Daisy, Reynolds and three-year-old Tompkins-Geers races that The Hambletonian Society services at The Meadowlands and Tioga Downs. An updated list of the foals for stallions who are on that list and aren't eligible to the above mentioned races can be found on the Meadowlands' website.

Also note that the two-year-old Tompkins-Geers have moved to Woodbine Mohawk Park with no Stallion Restriction. The Dexter Cup and Lady Suffolk races have been moved to The Meadowlands due to the closure of Freehold Raceway.

In all cases only ONE cheque is ever necessary for each of the four payment periods i.e. February 15, March 15, April 15 or May 15.

For convenience, eligibility lists can be emailed to nominators who request them. Eligibility lists for races whose final payments were due in February are also available on the Society's website.
