Overthemoonforyou, who is having an outstanding meet for trainer Quentin Schneider, owner Qks Racing and driver Aaron Lehman, has top billing in Friday night’s $20,000 USD California Sire Stakes for the four-year-old pacing mares at Cal Expo.

Watch and Wager LLC will present nine races with first post at 6:45 p.m. The Sire Stakes is scheduled as the fifth race.

Overthemoonforyou, a daughter of Karpathian Kid, has captured eight of her first 10 starts at the Cal Expo meet, including victories in the Jack Williams final, the first Sire Stakes of the season on Feb. 8 and a game overnight score last week over arch-rival Over Ice. In the Sire Stakes, Overthemoonforyou was dispatched as the 7-5 second choice and won in a 1:54.2 career-best romp by 8-1/2 lengths after sitting a pocket journey to the lane for Lehman. 

Over Ice was the odds-on choice in that affair but lost her chance when she suffered an interference break early on, rushed up to the lead and then tired. The J J J Stables homebred by Custard The Dragon takes her lessons from Gordie Graham and Nick Roland will be in the sulky. She is an 11-time winner from her 25 trips to the post with a 1:53.3 mark that was set last year at Century Downs.

Overthemoonforyou has drawn post four and is the 6-5 morning line favourite while Over Ice is the 5-2 second choice from post eight. Taking on the pair will be Heart Of Art, Apple Juice, Little Miss Boss, TJB Secreharriet, Another Tuff Woman and Senorita Draco.
