Guillemette Caps Triple With Western Fair Preferred

Treasured Tee and driver Travis Henry delivered a gate-to-wire victory in the $12,000 Preferred Handicap Trot, capping off a training triple for Francis Guillemette on Monday, March 3 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
Following an early break from Gold Edition (Blair Burgess), Treasured Tee took command right off the gate, setting a first quarter in :29 and a halftime in one minute flat. The gelding maintained his lead through three-quarters in 1:30.1, while 2-1 favourite Marvin Hagler (Austin Sorrie) tipped from third around the final turn. However, nobody could catch the pacesetter. Treasured Tee held strong to win in 2:00.3 by 1-1/4 lengths over the 'good' track. Insanity (Jason Ryan) was second and Marvin Hagler claimed the show spot.
A 10-year-old Yankee Glide-Platinum T gelding, Treasured Tee is co-owned by trainer Francis Guillemette and Stephane Geoffroy. With this Preferred victory, Treasured Tee now boasts 37 career wins and has surpassed the $500,000 mark in earnings, currently sitting at $504,805. Out of the six Preferred Trot races in the 2025 season, Treasured Tee has earned a cheque in every start, with three victories, two second-place finishes and a fifth-place finish.
Guillemette had two other trainees return to the winner’s circle, including Our Max Phactor N (1:59.1, $3.70), driven by Austin Sorrie, and JJ Xavier (1:58.1, $4.40), driven by Sam Fillion. With these victories, Guillemette now has 18 wins and $91,438 in earnings at The Raceway, further solidifying his position as the leading trainer there for the season so far. In 2025, he has 36 wins and $187,979.
