Ladies From Hell Untouchable In Western Fair Preferred

Ladies From Hell continued her reign at The Raceway at Western Fair District with a dominant victory in the $12,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Handicap on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Rightfully nicknamed the Queen of London, the 7-5 favourite wasted no time flashing her early speed, blasting off the gate with Garrett Rooney in the bike and never looking back. She delivered a wire-to-wire performance, setting fractions of :28.4, :59.1, 1:28 and cruising home in 1:57.2 over the ‘good’ track, finishing 4-3/4 lengths ahead of her competition to secure yet another Preferred title. Fated Fire (Daryl Thiessen) was second and Waitinonawoman (Travis Cullen) rounded out the top three.
The 11-year-old daughter of Classic Card Shark-Jennys Place is trained by Michael Sumner, who co-owns with Shae Sumner of London, Ont. This latest triumph marks her 49th career victory, pushing her lifetime earnings to $317,991. Bettors who backed the veteran mare were rewarded with a $4.90 payout.
Ladies From Hell was previously honoured as Western Fair’s Top Older Pacing Mare, following an outstanding 10-year-old season, when she posted 11 wins and earned more than $60,000.
