Crossfit Mouse Wins Mid-Week Rosecroft Feature

Former Ontario Sires Stakes winner Crossfit Mouse turned a pocket trip into a 1:55 win in the Wednesday, Feb. 19 feature at Rosecroft Raceway, an $11,972 conditioned trot.
Owner/driver Corey Braden secured the pocket with Crossfit Mouse behind stablemate Timestorm (Jared Moyer) through a :27.2 first quarter. After stalking a sustained duel between Timestorm and 9-5 favourite Mind Yown Business (Johnathan Ahle) through the far turn, Braden cut Crossfit Mouse loose up the open stretch and the eight-year-old Muscle Mass-Zumba Mouse gelding surged forward to win by a half length. Dowedealinandwhy circled four-wide from last to narrowly collar Timestorm for second.
Stacey McLenaghan currently trains Crossfit Mouse, who paid $7 to win as the 5-2 second choice while notching his 24th career victory. The win was the trotter's first in two starts this season and lifted his lifetime bankroll to $375,536.
Braden led all drivers with three wins on the 12-race program while McLenaghan and Jason Walters each fashioned a training double.
Live harness racing returns to Rosecroft on Monday, Feb. 24 with a $1,541.53 Jackpot Hi-5 carryover in the evening's 10th race. First post is 7:15 p.m.
