Hat Trick For Nice N Nice
Nanticoke Racing and Josh Parker’s Nice N Nice won her third straight race Tuesday, pulling off a mild upset in a division of the $16,000 Mares Junior Open at Harrington Raceway in 1:53.4
.
The five-year-old Blissful Hall mare set all the speed for Jim Morand. Leaving from Post 1, Nice N Nice fought off a stubborn first-over No Bad Luck throughout, while holding off a fast charging Rock N Load late for a narrow win. Rock N Load finished second, while No Bad Luck was third. She paid $12.60.
Trained by Les Givens, Nice N Nice was one of three consecutive driving winners for Morand, two of which were trained by Givens. Driver Ross Wolfenden won the final three races on the card, also giving him a natural hat trick.
In the co-featured $16,000 Mares Jr. Open, Marty Burton's Real Passing Lady ($22.60, Allan Davis) duplicated Nice N Nice's tactic, by wiring her field from the pole position in 1:55 over Dill and Grace A and Ash Larue. For Nice N Nice and Real Passing Lady, it was their first career win in Open-level company.
