Apply To 2012-13 SC Youth Council
Do you love harness racing? Are you looking for work experience and references to add to your resume? How would you like to combine the two? We might just have the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!
If you’re between the ages of 18 and 25 and are full of great ideas to enhance the Canadian Harness Racing experience, you could be a great fit for the 2012-2013 Standardbred Canada Youth Council.
Standardbred Canada is looking for the most animated young Canadian harness racing enthusiasts we can find to take part in this year’s council, and we want you! This is the perfect outlet to share your ideas, help plan new and exciting racing events in your local area, build up your resume, and work with other racing enthusiasts from across the country.
Over the past year, the Youth Council has participated in events such as Horseplay for local youth groups and Equimania at the Royal Winter Fair. They completed a revitalization project at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia, and have partnered with the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club on numerous occasions to assist with special on-track racing events. A special thank you goes out to the 2011-2012 council for all of their hard work.
Don’t miss this chance to help bring about positive change in the harness racing community and grow your own skill set along the way. To apply for a position on the SC Youth Council, please complete and submit your application form before May 15, 2012. Applicants should be available for volunteer projects and council meetings (in person and via conference call) throughout the racing season over the subsequent 12 months.
