Bee Two Bee, Borth Best At Western Fair Tuesday

Five for Tyler Borth

The card of harness racing on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at The Raceway at Western Fair District was brought to you by the letter B, with Bee Two Bee and Tyler Borth sharing the spotlight.

The top-class pacers at Western Fair assembled behind the gate for the $12,000 Preferred Pace on Tuesday, where Bee Two Bee and Travis Cullen had the race under wraps from start to finish, cruising to a seemingly effortless victory.

The 1-9 favourite, Bee Two Bee, seized control early and never looked back, dictating the fractions in a dominant wire-to-wire performance. He cruised through an opening quarter in :29, reached the half in a comfortable :59.4 with no serious pressure and maintained command past three-quarters in 1:27.3. With plenty left in the tank, he coasted home effortlessly in 1:56.1, drawing off to win by an impressive 6-1/4 lengths. Heza Handy Man (Alfie Carroll) was a clear second, while Lord Anthony (Tyler Borth) held on for third.

Bee Two Bee, an eight-year-old son of Sunshine Beach out of Bee Fullof Steinam, made his third start in his return to the Jodie Cullen stable under owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan. This win marks his second win of the season after securing another Preferred victory earlier in the year at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The veteran pacer now sports 35 career wins and lifetime earnings of $473,668.

Tyler Borth made five trips to the winner’s circle, first kicking off the 10-race card with a victory aboard Champagne Bettina ($9.90) for trainer Cameron McQueen. He then quickly doubled up in Race 3 with BBC Sportsboy ($3.80) for trainer Cassidy Schneider and in Race 4 with TH Allowmetolead ($2.40) for trainer Jason Libby. His fourth win was in Race 6 with April Duford ($2.80), trained by Ashley Duford, before capping off his big night in Race 9 with Filly Watcher ($3.60), a trainee of Troy Cochrane.

Borth enjoyed a strong 2024 season, finishing in the top 10 of the Canadian driving standings with 296 victories and achieving a career-high earnings total of $4,376,661. In 2025, he has already notched 37 wins and $438,121 in earnings, holding steady in second place for national driver earnings. With tonight’s victories, Borth now moves into fourth place at The Raceway at Western Fair District with 17 wins.
