Condren Set To Return In Monday Qualifiers
Hall of Famer and O'Brien Award winning driver Steve Condren has told Trot Insider that he will be back in the sulky on Monday morning during Mohawk Racetrack's qualifiers
.
Condren, whose battle with cancer was featured in the September 2011 issue of Trot Magazine, told Trot Insider that his workout regimen in Florida was going well enough that he decided to come home early.
The 54-year-old drove home to Milton, Ont. a few days ago and is expected to steer a pair of three-year-old trotting fillies for Bob McIntosh during Monday's qualifying session. Condren is listed to drive Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Championship runner-up Barbie And Ken and Tyrone Conchie in the fifth and seventh qualifiers.
The winner of 6,621 races and over $109.6 million in purses will be available to drive on the Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit going forward.
