Windy conditions and not seeing the pylons for much of the first half weren't enough to deter Luvutothemoonanbak as the three-year-old rookie trotter cruised in his career debut on Thursday, Feb. 6 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Leaving from post six against a full field of 10 in the $17,000 maiden trot, Luvutothemoonanbak and driver Doug McNair floated out in sixth early, unable to find a spot in line as Tacticallyspeaking (Jody Jamieson) looped around Damsel Seelster (Justin Turcotte) to reach the quarter first in :31. Industrialists (Billy Davis Jr.) grabbed command on the backstretch from the outer flow before it was Luvutothemoonanbak's turn on the first-over conveyor belt, taking command just prior to reaching the half in 1:02. Luvutothemoonanbak got a brief breather entering the final turn before 45-1 shot Whoops (Dan Megens) surged alongside at three-quarters in 1:31.4.

Turning for home, Luvutothemoonanbak shook off challenge from Whoops while Industrialists looked to wind up a rally from the pocket. Trotting home in :30.1, Luvutothemoonanbak held Industrialists at bay by 1-1/2 lengths to score in 2:02. Southwind Capone (Trevor Henry) rallied from the backfield for the show spot.

Trained by Blake MacIntosh, the winning gelded son of Love You-With Sprinkles is owned by Clancy Farms of Severn, Ont.
