Red Shores is pleased to offer two new events this year to its stakes schedule

The first series, called the Erwin Andrew Mares Trot, sponsored by Meridian Farms and Standardbred Canada, will be contested in August. This series consists of two legs and a final at Red Shores in Charlottetown. Legs with be raced on August 2 and 11 with a consolation on August 17. The final will take place on Gold Cup and Saucer night, August 18. This will be the top stakes event for the open trotting mares in the Maritimes. The $100 nomination fee is due on May 15. The second series will be called the Island Pacing Championship for the open pacers and will be sponsored by Meridian Farms. Eliminations will be contested on Saturday, September 29. The consolation has been slated for October 6 and the final is to take place on the day of the Atlantic Breeders Crown, Sunday, October 7. This event will have an estimated final purse of $15,000.
