Prices reigned supreme on Thursday, Jan. 30 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, as eight of the 10 races on the card produced double-digit priced winners, headlined by Savoir Duharas lighting up the toteboard at 33-1.

Sent away from post five in the field of 10 $8,000 claimers, driver Doug McNair landed Savoir Duharas in the pocket early as 15-1 shot Hapuna Beach (J.R. Plante) cut the quarter from post nine in :28.4. The field was content to follow the two longshot leaders to the half in :58 before Speedy Blinders (Trevor Henry) tried to start the coverflow from third at three-quarters in 1:27.2.

Savoir Duharas popped the pocket and assumed command midway though the lane while 3-5 favourite Keystone Tenacious (Billy Davis Jr.) began to surge from second-over. Savoir Duharas raced bravely on the lead, scoring by a nose in 1:56.3 over a surging Speedy Blinders, who found his best stride late splitting rivals, with Keystone Tenacious a half-length back in third after getting rough-gaited late in the lane.

Savoir Duharas is owned and trained by Alexane Laroche. The seven-year-old gelded son of Sunshine Beach-Ell Sait Du Haras is now a 12-time winner in his career, sporting earnings of $72,930. He paid $76 for the victory.

Far from the only bomb on the evening, the 10-race card held an average win price of $26.60, with half of the winners on the night paying $20+ to win at the betting windows.
