Hill Mares Sell For Six Figures

Ontario stakes winner Baroness Hill and Foxy Hill sold for six figures in an online auction on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 29.

Owned by Tom Hill, five-year-old trotting mare Baroness Hill 4,1:52.1s-'24 was purchased for $465,714 ($326,000 USD) by Kountry Lane Standardbreds via onGait.com. A career winner of more than $400,000 while trained by Chantal Mitchell and Virgil Morgan Jr., the Kadabra mare is out of Secret Passion, a half sister to world champion mare Manchego. Baroness Hill is a half sister to the Chapter Seven colt Spencer Hanover, who sold for more than $600,000 at the Standardbred Horse Yearling Sale last fall.

Hill also sold four-year-old pacing mare Foxy Hill p,3,1:48.4-'24 on Wednesday for $171,429 ($120,000 USD) with Dana Parham of Florida being the winning bidder. Foxy Hill has earned $122,620 in her career under the care of Morgan and Chris Ryder. She is a daughter of Captaintreacherous out of My Little Delight, who is a half sister to millionaires Stay Hungry and Treacherous Dragon.
