Lasix Measure Doesn't Pass KHRC Vote
After a supportive vote in a sub-committee earlier in the day, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission on Monday, April 16 voted against banning the administration of furosemide (lasix) on days in which horses are racing
.
A report by the Lexington Herald-Leader explains that the measure had received support via a 4-1 vote in the KHRC's race-day medication committee earlier in the day, but that the commission was ultimately deadlocked on the issue afterward, as the commission found itself snared on the issue after a 7-7 vote.
News from the KHRC is still coming out, and Trot Insider will update this story with more information when it becomes available.
