Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale Announced

Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale

A new Standardbred sale has been announced for 2025.

The Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale — formerly known as the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale — will take place Thursday, Oct.16, 2025 through Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds  in Indianapolis, Ind.

The first day will feature the sale's “Gold” Select yearlings while the “Silver” Select yearlings will sell on the second day. A third day will be a mixed sale comprised of yearlings,  weanlings, broodmares and broodmare prospects, racehorses and stallion shares.

Improvements planned for the 2025 Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale include:

  • The auction being held in the spacious Corteva Coliseum, a 6,500-seat arena.
  • The sale will now be open to all yearlings and not limited to Indiana-sired yearlings.
  • The catalogue being available for download on the Equineline app.
  • Sliding scale commissions as well as a lower sale commission on stallion shares.
  • Buyer’s rebates.
  • Consignors being paid 50 percent of their proceeds at the conclusion of the sale and the remaining 50 percent within three weeks.
  • All yearlings to be personally inspected by Dr. Bridgette Jablonsky in late spring/early summer.

Other changes are in progress, including the development of the sale company's website. For additional information as it becomes available, please visit midweststandardbredhorsesale.com.
