Standardbred Canada announced the finalists for the 2024 O’Brien Awards, honouring Canada’s best in harness racing over the past season, on Friday, Dec. 20.

The winners will be announced on Saturday, Feb. 8 2025 at the O’Brien Awards Gala, which will take place at the Delta Meadowvale / Mississauga in Mississauga, Ont.

With two finalists in each category — including five people categories and 12 divisional horse categories with one of those horses winning the Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year Award — it's a sure thing that some of those categories came down to just a few votes, possibly even one or even a tie.
