Streaks were the theme of the night Saturday (Dec. 14) at Century Mile, with sophomore pacing filly Baby Limbo pacing to her fifth consecutive victory before trainer Travis Ellis conditioned four straight winners on the eight-race card.

The 1-4 favourite from post five, Baby Limbo and driver Don Howlett settled into fifth on the first turn while Silent Lucidity (Kelly Hoerdt) cut the quarter in :30.2. Silent Lucidity reached the halfway point in :59.3 as Baby Limbo began her first-over journey and moved into third at that station in :59.3. The bettors' choice continued to gain, surging alongside the leader on the far turn before taking over by a half-length at three-quarters in 1:30.

Turning for home, Baby Limbo put away Silent Lucidity, now with Shes Like The Wind (Mike Hennessy) in pursuit in second. Baby Limbo began to power away in the lane, opening up by 5-1/2 lengths over Shes Like The Wind to cross the wire first in 1:59.1. Raging Beauty (Nathan Sobey) rallied for the show position.

Don Howlett also owns the daughter of Captain Crunch-Wanda Bayama while Mathew Howlett does the training for the three-year-old rookie who has won six of 11 on the year. The victory pushed Baby Limbo's bankroll to $16,242 for her career.

Trainer Travis Ellis took over the proceedings from there, winning the next four races on the card. Mike Hennessy scored aboard Trust Me Alot ($3.80, 1:57.2) and Chaseisonthecase ($4.80, 1:54.2) before Nathan Sobey completed the natural grand slam with Flying Officer ($2.90, 1:57.2) and Tajmania ($3.30, 1:55.3) for the sizzling trainer.
