Sauble Lila Extends Win Streak At Western Fair

Sauble Lila, North America's winningest three-year-old pacing filly this year, continued a successful run at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Friday night, Dec. 13.

Sauble Lila extended her current win streak at to five in a row at The Raceway, giving her a total of 15 wins on the season for trainer Otis Hall.

Driver Scott Wray was in the sulky for the third straight week and worked out a second-over trip for Sauble Lila, who rallied three-wide turning for home and won the $6,200 ninth race for $20,000 claiming fillies and mares in 1:59.4 by 1-1/2 lengths. Red Sky Tonight (Sam Fillion) closed from behind for second-place while Dinner And Dancing (Garrett Rooney) edged out Sweet Cravings (Daryl Thiessen) in a show photo five lengths back.

Sauble Lila, who swept the City Of London Series at The Raceway back in May, has earned $76,061 from 27 starts during her debut campaign. All but two of her 15 wins have occured at the London, Ont. half-mile oval. The homebred daughter of State Treasurer out of Ontario Sires Stakes winner Performing Art is owned by Sauble Hill Farms of Tara, Ont., and Nasussito Racing Inc. of Ayr, Ont.

She paid $2.30 to win as the 1-9 favourite.
