Twin B Joe Fresh Tops Poll Heading Into Final Week

Twin B Joe Fresh gives Dexter Dunn his six Breeders Crown win of 2024

Twin B Joe Fresh remained No. 1 for the 20th consecutive week in the penultimate Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

An idle Winners Bet moved up one spot, from eighth to seventh, in a swap of positions with Progress Pace elimination fourth-place finisher Nijinsky in the only change of spots for Week 24.

Captain Albano, who won the Progress elim, added 22 points from last week, but fell two points shy of idle Chantilly in fourth place. No other horses in the Top 10 were in action last week.

The final Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll will be released on Dec. 3 following the completion of the Grand Circuit season.

The poll does not determine U.S. Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.

My Girl EJ's connections have decided that she'll face the acid test in her final start of 2024. She's entered in The Fan Duel Championship for Open Mares on Saturday night at The Meadowlands, meaning that she'll be facing presumptive HOTY Twin B Joe Fresh. Luckily for both horses, it's only a 7-horse field.
