Two-time Breeders Crown champion filly My Girl EJ topped the Preferred Equine Online Mixed Sale on Monday, Nov. 18 with multiple other mares, including her dam Lucys Pearl and two-time O'Brien Award winner Adare Castle, also selling for six-figure prices.

Selling as a partnership dissolution, My Girl EJ p,3,1:48.1-’24 ($1,759,957) topped the sale, selling for $1,067,606 ($758,000 USD). The winning bidder was Pollock, Areman and Harris. Previously owned by trainer Ron Burke with breeders Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and Elizabeth Novak, the three-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou is a multiple Grand Circuit stakes winner and set the 1:49.1 all-age female world record on a half-mile track when she won elimination heat of the Jugette at Delaware County Fair.

My Girl EJ's dam, Lucys Pearl, sold in foal to Sweet Lou for $501,409 ($356,000 USD) with Greg Luther purchasing the broodmare. The stakes-winning Well Said-Remember When mare, who earned $341,213 and took a mark of 1:50.1f in her racing career, is also the dam of millionaire Little Brown Jug champion Lous Pearlman as well as $100,000+ winners Loukes Perry and Lousain Bolt -- all by Sweet Lou.   

Greg Luther also purchased her weanling Sweet Lou colt Lounado for $352,113 ($250,000 USD) while BWB Racing purchased her yearling Sweet Lou colt Generationalwealth for $197,183 ($140,000 USD).

Two-time O’Brien Award winner Adare Castle 4,1:52s ($1,416,096) and recently retired two-time O'Brien Award finalist HP Mama B 4,1:51.4s ($867,467) also sold for six figures as broodmare prospects.

Adare Castle was purchased for $321,127 ($228,000 USD) by 30 Plus Stable. A 22-time career winner, Adare Castle was victorious in numerous Ontario stakes in addition to facing Grand Circuit competition. The five-year-old Muscle Mass-Pacific Edge mare was campaigned by trainer Mark Etsell and partners Robert Newton, Graham Hopkins and Peter Porter.

HP Mama B was sold for $211,268 ($150,000 USD) to Trotrs. Bred by trainer Ben Baillargeon and owned by Guylaine Picard and Claude Hamel, the six-year-old mare was an Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots champion at two and went on to win against Gold and Grand Circuit competition, ending her career with 24 victories. HP Mama B is the richest and fastest offspring from her sire, Royalty For Life, and is out of Winters Jewel.

Also attracting significant interest, a Walner stallion share sold for $442,254 ($314,000 USD) to Ecurie Jean Pierre Barjon.
