Streaks, Hot Hands And Top Class Stars At Red Shores Saturday
Rosetown Mary unloaded her closing burst to capture the featured pace on a rainy afternoon program on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Corey MacPherson sat third with his trainee in the $3,600 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace and reached up in the stretch drive to win by a neck in 1:57.4 on a track rated two-seconds-off over Shake N Blake (Driven by David Dowling) with pacesetter Sugar Bowl (Gilles Barrieau) third.
Taylor MacPherson co-owns the winning daughter of Pang Shui with Rosetown Stable of Stratford.
The Jeff Holmes stable continued to click at a high percentage with three wins on the day, all in line to driver Paul Langille. Miramichi Alanna (2:02.2) gave the Orwell trainer win number 250 of his career in Race 2, followed by Two Tone Terror (2:00.1) in Race 6 and Imalookertoo (1:58.2) in Race 8. Holmes is having a career year as a trainer with 60 wins in 2024 with a sparkling .470 training average.
Langille also won with Malignity (1:56.3) from his own stable for four driving wins on the day.
Marc Campbell extended his lead in the driving standings with five wins on the 16-dash card. The Orwell driver won with Spindoctor Hanover (1:58.3) for Wayne McGean, Bacononabiscuit (1:56.4) for trainer Adam Merner, Poplar Artie (2:00.2) for Lenny Myers, Chasin Dreams (2:03.1) for Landon Campbell and closed it out with Windemere Saddy (2:00) for trainer Brent Campbell.
T H Boomtown (Dowling) won his sixth straight for trainer Ron Matheson and owners Dr. Don Ling and Wayne MacDougall with a 1:58.2 victory in Race 13. The son of Captain Crunch is undefeated on P.E.I.
