Norma Varcoe Passes
Longtime harness racing industry participant Norma Varcoe of Alliston, Ont. passed away peacefully at her home in Good Samaritan Seniors Complex Alliston, on Nov. 4, 2024 at the age of 92.
Norma (nee: Cauthers) was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Varcoe, with whom she owned horses the likes of former divisional champion N V Worthy. Loving mother of Don Varcoe (Marie-Laure), the late Alvin Varcoe (Mary), and the late Melvyn Varcoe (Cathy). Dear grandmother of Bryan (Stephanie), Bethany (Mike), Ashley (Andrew), Kari-Lyn, Christopher (Christine), Craig, and Mary. Sadly missed by her many great grandchildren. Forever in the hearts of all of her extended family, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477, on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Reception will follow in the Funeral Home’s Cliffside Hall. Interment will be held in Alliston Union Cemetery after the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory to Matthews House Hospice Alliston or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
