Shanghai James Repeats Friday At The Meadows
Buried in fourth with no apparent way out as the field turned for home, Shanghai James found the Lightning Lane and poured through to take the feature on Friday, Nov. 8 at The Meadows — a $16,667 claiming handicap pace — for his second straight victory.
As the field fanned out to attack the leader, Shanghai James and Brady Brown found an unexpected path to the Lightning Lane. They seized the opportunity and prevailed in 1:53, three parts of a length better than 68-1 long shot Olliestrikesfame. In Rock We Trust completed the ticket.
Dirk Simpson trains Shanghai James, a four-year-old Shanghai Phil-Spade Seelster gelding who lifted his career bankroll to 137,515, for Dirk Simpson Stable Inc., Cliff Dvorkin and Zachary Dvorkin.
Dave Palone and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. each enjoyed a three-bagger on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes on Wednesday, Nov. 13, with a first post of 12:45 p.m.
