Driver Louis-Philippe Roy kicked off his week right, winning half of the 10-race card at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday, Nov. 4, including a sweep of both $37,500 Harvest Series finals with Bright Green and Outtathisworld Deo.

The finals on the evening were both for Ontario-sired two-year-old fillies who were non-winners of $30,000 as of Sept. 30 with a final both for trotting and pacing fillies.

The trotters took the stage first, with Roy teaming up with the Eric Nadeau-trained Bright Green for a 12-1 upset score.

Leaving from the middle of the gate in the scratched down field of seven, Roy settled Bright Green in third early while 50-1 shot Pier Ho Emerald (Tyler Jones) cut the quarter in :27.4. Roy gave Bright Green the green light on the backstretch, moving first-over to clear to the lead before the half in :57.4.

The 1-5 favourite, Stormont Beautiful (Brett MacDonald), was quickly there to apply pressure to the leader on the final turn, with the fillies trotting to three-quarters in 1:26.3. Trotting well clear of the rest in the lane, the lead pair continued to slug it out in deep stretch. Bright Green dug in gamely on the lead, holding Stormont Beautiful at bay by three parts of a length on the line in 1:55.4. Stovid (Tyler Borth) finished third at 44-1.

Roy co-owns the daughter of Green Manalishi S-Shine Bright along with Ecurie CSL. The effort was a career best for Bright Green, who has won two of 10 on the year, banking $49,389.

Roy utilized similar tactics to score in the filly pace final, this time with the Chantal Mitchell-trained Outtathisworld Deo (pictured above).

Sent away from post three as the 9-5 second choice, Roy got away fourth in the field of 10 on the first turn with My Happy Place (Doug McNair) reaching the quarter first in :27.2. Roy moved Outtathisworld Deo just beyond the quarter, taking over before reaching the halfway point in :56.1. Slipping away by 1-3/4 lengths on the final turn, Outtathisworld Deo reached three-quarters in 1:24.4 with Promising Moment (Borth) moving first-over into third as the 6-5 favourite.

Turning for home, the threat proved to be My Happy Place as she popped the pocket from behind Outtathisworld Deo looking for the 11-1 upset. Bracing for the challenge, Outtathisworld Deo battled the challenger to the wire, reaching the line first by a head in 1:53. Sugar Pie Honey (James MacDonald) rallied for the show spot.

The royally bred homebred daughter of Bettors Delight-Worldly Beauty is owned by Deo Volente Farms. A winner in three of nine this season, including her last two, Outtathisworld Deo has earned $45,690 on the season following the career-best effort.

In addition to the series finals, Roy scored victories on the evening with Lets Get Rocked ($4.60), Southwind Domino ($3.00) and Patriarch Hanover ($3.50).
