SC Rewind: Picture Parade
This week's Rewind is the monthly feature Picture Parade. This time around Robert Smith has selected a number of old photographs of well known drivers as they appeared in the earlier days. A number of these old "gems" were taken around 50 years ago, a few are later.
#1 - Can you identify this young fellow? He is U.S. based but very well known. This was taken at Blue Bonnets following a win in a big race.
#2 - How many of this quintet of young drivers can you identify? This photo was taken at Richelieu Park a very long time ago.
#3 - Can you figure out this smiling fellow?
#4 - This old photo takes us back to the silk hat days. Can you identify either or both of these lads?
#5 - In 1982 when Roosevelt Raceway decided to give t-shirts away to their patrons on opening night this young driver was asked to model one. He is from the U.S. and still with us I believe. Can you name him?
#6 - This fellow has been on the scene for a very long time and is still quite involved. Who is he?
#7 - This picture was taken in 1975 I believe and this man is pretty unmistakable. Name him if you can.
#8 - This is yet another photo from about 1975. Unfortunately we lost this gentleman a short time ago. Who is it?
#9 - This youngster is not quite as young as he was when this picture was taken but he still has a youthful look. Can you figure him out?
#10 - This fellow might be about the youngest of today's group but the photo dates back to 1988, so 36 years ago. Who is he?
Quote For The Week: "I think one reason for a successful marriage is laughter. I think laughter gets you through the rough moments in a marriage." - From Bob Newhart, well known comedian.
