Dover Downs Meet Begins November 4
Bally’s Dover will kick off its 55th harness racing season on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 with the 83-day meet running through Thursday, April 3, 2025. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
The draw schedule for opening week is listed below. The entry box closes at 11 a.m. and online entries are encouraged.
- Tuesday, Oct. 29 for Monday, Nov. 4
- Wednesday, Oct. 30 for Tuesday, Nov. 5
- Thursday, Oct. 31 for Wednesday, Nov. 6
- Monday, Nov. 4 for Thursday, Nov. 7
There will be no live racing Thursday, Nov. 28 (U.S. Thanksgiving) or Dec. 20-29 (Christmas break).
The first qualifying race is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m., with the draw taking place on Monday, Oct. 28. The entry box closes at 11 a.m. Qualifiers will be held on Wednesdays for the remainder of the meet (drawn on Tuesday).
Training is scheduled on race days, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The two-year-old Matron Stakes are scheduled as follows:
- Two-Year-Old Filly Trot - Monday, Nov. 11
- Two-Year-Old Colt Trot - Tuesday, Nov. 12
- Two-Year-Old Filly Pace - Wednesday, Nov. 13
- Two-Year-Old Colt Pace - Thursday, Nov. 14
The three-year-old Matron Stakes will be contested on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Bally’s Dover’s signature race, the Progress Pace for three-year-old pacers, will offer eliminations (if needed) on Thursday, Nov. 21. The Progress Pace final is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 27.
The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund stakes are scheduled as follows:
- Two-year-old eliminations - Nov. 7-20 ($20,000 each)
- Two-year-old finals - Nov. 21-27 ($110,000 each)
- Three-year-old eliminations - Dec. 2-12 ($20,000 each)
- Three-year-old finals - Dec. 16-19 ($110,000 each)
