Surreal Ideal Stays Hot With Meadows Open Win
Surreal Ideal moved confidently first over, pounced on the tiring leader and triumphed in a sharp 1:49.3 in the $29,041 Open Handicap Pace on Friday, Oct. 18 at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
While Wild Wild Western took a contested lead in an unrealistic :25.4, Surreal Ideal found a seat fourth. When Hunter Myers tipped him off the cones, the six-year-old So Surreal-Jkmusicofthenite gelding overtook Wild Wild Western into the final and defeated him by 2-3/4 lengths. American Fling completed the ticket.
Vernon Beachy trains Surreal Ideal, who has finished first or second in eight straight races and soared over $334,000 in career earnings, for 518 Group LLC and Gitup Racing.
Dave Palone and Myers each piloted four winners on the 13-race-card while Mike Wilder enjoyed a triple.
Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, Oct. 23, with first post at 12:45 p.m.
