Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale Complete
The 2024 Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale concluded on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis with a higher average yearling price than last year's sale.
Sold as Hip 256 and consigned by In Law Stables, Rolling Like It Is (Tellitlikeitis-Rolling Delight) sold for $194,444 ($140,000 USD) to top the second session. The second foal of an unraced Bettors Delight mare, Rolling Like It Is is a half brother to Indiana Sire Stakes winner Rolling Image. He was collared by Tyler George of Anderson, Ind., who also co-owned and trained his older brother.
Hip 227, Ponda Stripes fetched a bid of $118,056 ($85,000 USD) from Connie Hochstetler of Pinehurst, N.C. as the top priced trotter from Saturday's session. Bred and consigned by Pond A Acres, Ponda Stripes is a daughter of Swan For All and the first foal from Indiana Fair Circuit standout and 20-time winner Perfect Stick 3, 1:57s, 4, 1:53.2f -'18 ($253,663).
Buzzsaw Russ is no stranger to success in the Hoosier state, and thus his full sister Cruisen Halle has big horseshoes to fill. The daughter of Rockin Image-Up Front Cruiser, consigned by 3-D Farms and sold as Hip 328, was collared by Britney Dillon of Greenville, Mich. for $111,111 ($80,000 USD).
