Cullen Trainees Triple At Flamboro
Jodie Cullen's students showed up to the Wednesday, Oct. 16 evening card at Flamboro Downs ready to go as she saw three of them enter the winner's circle following gate-to-wire triumphs in their respective classes. Each winner was driven to victory by Cullen's son Travis.
In the card opener, a $6,500 conditioned pace, Singing With Jimmy ($7.20) made every pole a winning one and held onto the win at the wire by a head in 2:00.2. The homebred Big Jim-Sing Like An Angel colt was bred and is owned by Keith Hannah along with Jodie, Ron and Travis Cullen. The victory was his first in 10 starts.
Cullen got her second win in race four, a $4,500 conditioned claiming pace, with Military Man ($3.30). The Heston Blue Chip-Major Millie son won by three-quarters of a length in 1:57.3 in his second start with Cullen. He was claimed out of the race for an $8,000 tag.
Finally, Granite Beach ($3.30) won a $7,500 conditioned pace by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.4, giving Cullen her training hat trick for the evening. Grace Marshman and A1stable co-own the Sunshine Beach-April May Dune gelding as he moved his seasonal and career tally to 5-6-1 from 16 starts.
