Glamour Boy Sweeps Hoosier Series

On Thursday, April 12 at Hoosier Park, Our Lucky Chip completed a sweep of the Jerry Landess Series after making the front on the final turn and pacing to a three-and-a-half-length win in 1:53

.

After having left from Post 2, driver Trace Tetrick slipped Our Lucky Chip into third. The duo utilized a first-over move and cleared to the lead after the :57.2 half-mile marker. The pair opened up a few lengths and tripped the three-quarters timer in 1:25.3. Employing a :27.2 final quarter-mile, Our Lucky Chip rambled home for the career-best win.

Trainer Jason Miller, who purchased Our Lucky Chip as a weanling for his partnership with Bradley Roller of Wabash, Indiana, said his colt still has some learning to do.

“He was a touch hesitant off the gate last week and I think that was just from inexperience,” Miller noted. “I told Trace he would be better this week and he was. I was really happy with the way he raced tonight.”

Our Lucky Chip is now three for three in 2012 and five of six in his limited lifetime outings. Our Lucky Chip will now be aimed toward the Indiana Sire Stakes, which will begin in early May.

“I was really confident in my colt tonight,” Tetrick said of his mount. “I wasn’t sure who was going to make a run at him, but the race worked out in our favour. He felt very strong at the wire and I was really happy with the way he raced.”
