Fernand Jodoin Passes
Longtime Standardbred owner and trainer Fernand Jodoin “Peanut” passed away on Sept. 22, 2024 at the Honoré-Mercier Hospital in Saint-Hyacinthe, Que., at the age of 79.
Born on Feb. 19, 1945, he is originally from Saint-Pie, Que. He was the husband of Denise Gévry. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Stéphane (Catherine), Anne-Marie (Stéphane) and François (Kelly); his grandchildren, Zachary, Arielle, Émile, Charles-Olivier and Théo; his sisters, Lise and Claire; his sister-in-law, Pauline; as well as several cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saint-Pie church located at 165 rue Notre-Dame in Saint-Pie, Que. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. To honour Peanut's memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
