Open pacers returned to action for a second time this weekend at The Loop on Sunday afternoon, with Appoggiatura taking the rematch as the longest shot on the board.

Appoggiatura, an also ran in Saturday's Open won by Litizor, pulled off a 20-1 upset in Sunday's $8,000 top pace carded as a Winners Over Handicap. Driven by Darryl Mason, Appoggiatura defeated pacesetter Seek And Destroy and trainer/driver Paula Mason in 2:01.3 by a half a length in a 1-2 father-daughter finish. Litizor and Marc Fillion settled for third this time out, finishing 4-1/2 lengths behind.

The winning 10-year-old pacer, a son of Blue Burner out of the Gothic Dream mare Als Dream Gal, is a homebred for Glenda Giles of Kindersley, Sask. He is trained Clayton Braybook.

The Mason family were winners in all four of Sunday's races at The Loop. Darryl's wife Sherri trained two winners in Chocolate Bomb and Hurry Home -- the former driven by daughter Paula and the latter by Darryl. Paula was the winning trainer and driver of Super Cozey in the other race.
