Atlantic Sires Stakes To Summerside Sunday
The final preliminary leg of the Atlantic Sires Stakes is scheduled for a special afternoon program on Sunday, Sept. 22 at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The 13-dash program starts at 1 p.m., featuring the Atlantic Sires Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts and fillies as well as the two- and three-year-old trotters.
Badgirl Bridgette rides a three-race win streak into the first Atlantic Sires Stakes A division of her career. The $17,600 event for two-year-old pacing fillies has seven entries including the William Lanigan-owned and trained Badgirl Bridgette (Jason Hughes) from post six. The daughter of Stonebridge Terror has handily won her last three races. Other top entries include Woodmere Flojo (Adam Merner) and Michtooyoungforyou (Marc Campbell).
Saulsbrook Inferno (David Dowling) will look for victory in her $17,600 Atlantic Sires Stakes A assignment with rail control from the Earl Watts barn for owners Windemere Farms, Hollis Newson, Sterling Buchanan and Jack Quinn. Other favourites are Jafetica (Myles Heffernan Sr.) and Cast Away Moon (Gilles Barrieau).
The rookie pacing fillies will see $6,000 Atlantic Sires Stakes B divisions in Races 3, 9 and 11.
Malevolent (pictured above) is the morning line favourite in a $19,880 Atlantic Sires Stakes A division in Race 4 for trainer-driver Paul Langille and owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille. His top foes are slated as Dilicious (Barrieau) and Abiding Art (Kenny Arsenault).
The other $19,880 A-division for rookie pacers is in the Race 13 finale. Prince Malicious (Hughes) is favoured off the rail for trainer Ashley Gamester and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge. He takes on Rosetown Eclipse (Corey MacPherson) from post two and post seven entry Phil My Beer (Campbell).
The two-year-old pacing colts have $6,000 B divisions in Races 1 and 10.
Race 2 is a $12,520 Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old trot division with Supreme Rockette (Mike McGuigan) the top selection from post one for owner Jamie Whalen of Avondale.
Dusty Lane Gus (Campbell) is the top selection in the other $12,520 Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old trot division in Race 6 from the Lenny Myers stable for owner Alexis Gass of Cornwall.
Gettin Lit (McGuigan) is the morning line favourite in his $12,280 Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old trot dash in Race 4 for owner Whalen.
Dusty Lane Wee (Campbell) is favoured in the other $12,280 Atlantic Sires Stakes trot division with post six for trainer Myers and owners Garry MacDonald of Ontario and Ronnie Gass of Cornwall.
