With the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series regular season complete, the top point earners are gearing up for the season-ending finals and consolations at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The eight $25,000 consolations will go postward on Friday, Sept. 27 while the $75,000 finals will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28. The box closes on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10:30 a.m. for both events, with the draws taking place at Mohawk.

Of the horses entered in each age, sex and gait division, the top 10 point earners entered will draw into the championship and the next 10 point earners entered will draw into the consolation. The two Also Eligible horses will be drawn from the next highest point earners entered. In the event of a tie in the point standings, horses will be drawn by lot after the box closes.

Horses must have started in a minimum of two Grassroots Series legs to be eligible for their respective final or consolation. Complete point standings can be found on the "Leaderboard" page of the Ontario Sires Stakes website.

New for the Ontario Sires Stakes 50th Anniversary season, the winner of the Grassroots final may enter and draw into the Gold Series Super Final if it does not fill with Gold Series point earners. The Super Finals will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Mohawk.
