Families To Be Honoured At Atlantic Breeders Crown
The Atlantic Breeders Crown Host Committee announced on Thursday, Sept. 19 the Atlantic Canadian harness racing families that will be recognized for their achievements and contributions to the industry.
The families will be honoured during the upcoming Atlantic Breeders Crown Weekend at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Oct. 12-13.
The Gordon MacLean family from Winsloe, P.E.I. will be celebrated for their long association with harness racing.
From New Brunswick, the family of the late Gerald Ryan from Saint John will be saluted for their long involvement and many successes.
The McCallum family of Truro, N.S. will be recognized for their 60-plus years of involvement.
Newfoundland and Labrador will not be honouring a family this year.
Presentations to the three families will take place at the Atlantic Breeders Crown banquet, presented by the Prince Edward Island Standardbred Horse Owners Association, at the ‘Top of the Park’ at the CDP on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Memorabilia from each of the families will be on display in the ‘Memory Lane’ room in the 1888 Lounge during the weekend.
