Berube Records Five Winners At Rideau
Pascal Berube clicked out five driving wins on the Thursday evening, Sept. 12 card at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Berube kicked off the action with a win with Radley Hanover ($16.30) in a 6,500 conditioned pace by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:53.2. Karol Ann Malo Tetreault owns and trains the eight-year-old Art Major - Romnesia Hanover gelding.
In race six, a $7,000 conditioned pace, Smilingbillythekid ($2.90) and Berube won by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:54.3 for trainer and owner Benoit Hebert.
Berube won back-to-back races, winning race seven's $7,000 fillies and mares conditioned pace with Dialmeup ($2.60) in 1:54.1 by a head. Yves Tessier trains and co-owns the Vertical Horizon - Dial Romance mare with Gina and Lyne Bragagnolo.
Finally Berube secured his fourth and fifth driving wins in the late double. Beauty Is Blind ($2.60) won the $6,200 fillies and mares claiming pace from gate-to-wire in 1:55.1 for trainer Marc-Andre Simoneau, who co-owns the seven-year-old Betterthancheddar - Fast Ruffles mare with Desjardins Noreau Stable and Jean Fontaine.
Mask Of Zoro ($7.50) capped off the card with a 1:58.1 win by a neck in the $6,800 conditioned trot for trainer Hebert, who co-owns the Muscle Mass - Warrawee Truce gelding with Eric Lafleur.
Berube ranks second among drivers at Rideau Carleton Raceway this season with 64 wins and $406,795 in purses.
