Robin Murphy Passes
Robin James Murphy passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Aug. 31, 2024 with his forever soulmate of 26 years, Judy LaRush, by his side. He was 82.
Robin was a longtime driver, trainer and owner of Standardbred racehorses. His love of the horse took him to many areas to race in Ontario, Quebec and the USA. After 50 years away, he returned to Wolfe Island to retire and enjoy his friends and golf.
Loving step-father of Bobby LaRush (deceased) and Peter LaRush (Julie), and Grandpa Robin to his granddaughter Leah. Predeceased by his mother Christina Kane, father James Murphy and his sister Judith Smitten (Murphy). Dear brother of Denise (Buzz) Wilson and Linda Murphy (Nolan Peeley). Caring uncle to Steven, Brian and Kristin.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life on Oct. 5, 2024 at 1-4 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Hall, located at 1136 Highway 96, Wolfe Island, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wolfe Island Fire Department, Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society or the charity of your choice.
The family wishes at this time to thank the many doctors, nurses, all staff and the many teams who helped along the way whether it be in KGH, Providence Care Rehabilitation or Providence Care Transitional for their services and kindness.

So very sad to hear. Robin trained our horses in the US. He was always a bright light and had a great spirit. I am so sad he had struggled with a lengthy illness. It is interesting to hear where life had taken him over the years and he ended up in a life circle with the LaRush and the Green family. My sincere condolences to you all. RIP in peace Robin. I will never forget you.
