Oppenheimer Tops Goshen Yearling Sale

Oppenheimer was the sale topper at the 2024 Goshen Yearling Sale, which took place on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Mark Ford Training Center in Middletown, New York.

Selling as Hip 50, Oppenheimer was purchased for $77,027 ($57,000 USD) by Ray Schnittker of Middletown, New York. Consigned by Cameo Hills Farm, the New York-bred trotting colt by Chapter Seven is the sixth foal out of Bambino Supreme, a Broadway Hall sister to world champion stallion Six Pack ($1,973,661 - 1:49.1).

Acoustic Blue Chip, Hip 49, wasn't far behind as he garnered a bid of $72,973 ($54,000 USD). The Devious Man-Tangible Blue Chip colt was purchased by Jared Bako of Wallkill, New York from the Blue Chip Farms consignment.

A pair of yearlings sold for $67,568 ($50,000 USD) with both of those fillies, Say Goodnight, Hip 27, and Tin Roof Rusted, Hop 41, purchased by David Hamm of Dagsboro, Delaware.

Consigned by Cameo Hills Farm, the Papi Rob Hanover filly Say Goodnight is the eighth foal out of New Jersey Sire Stakes champion One Last Kiss, who has produced four $100,000+ earners. Say Goodnight is a half-sibling to Last Gunfighter ($444,305 - 1:49f), Kiss Me Onthebeach ($321,750 - 1:48.3f), All Night Party ($238,445 - 1:50.3f) and Gone Before Dawn ($113,192 - 1:51.4f).    

Sired by Huntsville, Tin Roof Rusted is the third foal out of the Rock N Roll Heaven mare Shepulledthegoalie and a full sister to I Was Tricked ($110,640 - 1:50.4f). She was consigned by Leatherstocking Equine.

In total, 82 yearlings sold for a total of $1,624,486 ($1,202,120 USD). The average price was $19,810 ($14,660 USD), marking an 18 per cent decrease compared to last year's Goshen Yearling Sale average price.

Cameo Hills was once again the top consignor of the sale, selling a total of 42 yearlings from their farm and as an agent for a total of $838,783 ($620,700 USD), with an average of $19,970 ($14,778 USD).
