Running Aces Jackpot Pick 5 Hit Sunday
One lucky player solved the 20-cent Jackpot Pick 5 wager on Sunday night, Aug. 25 at Running Aces with the only winning ticket to take down the entire pool and carryover, making a near $40,000 score.
The sequence started off in race seven with 8-1 upset winner Toccoa Falls (Williams Hernandez, $18) taking the $20,946 Open Trot. Hernandez scored a back-to-back double with favourite King Of Aces ($4) in race eight and then race nine produced a huge 28-1 upset by pacer Speakdollarsncents (Jeff Hunt $58), which reduced the live Pick 5 combinations to very few.
Iron Sharpens Iron (Brad Irvine, $11) scored as the 9-2 third choice in race 10 and when the will-pays were shown going into the final race, there were six chances (from nine horses) for the Jackpot payout.
Its A Marcs World (Nick Roland, $4.80) delivered as co-favourite in the night cap to prompt the big Pick 5 payout of $39,587.50.
The Jackpot Pick 5 pool will start anew on the Tuesday night, Aug. 27 program at Running Aces which will feature nine races and a first post of 7 p.m. (CDT).
