Sorrie Delivers A Prospect Series Double At Kawartha

Kawartha Downs

Driver Austin Sorrie scored a stakes double in Prospect Series action for three-year-old pacing fillies at Kawartha Downs on Friday night, Aug. 23.

Sorrie drove a pair of popular Betterthancheddar fillies, Cheese Party ($3.20) and Distant Lover ($2.40), to victories in their respective $8,000 divisions. Trainer Kyle Bossence's Cheese Party was the fastest division winner in a career-best 1:53.2 after benefitting from a hot early pace and closing off cover, while Distant Lover picked up her second series win when she wore down pacesetter Acefortyfour Lady by half a length to take a new mark of 1:55.1 for the Gregg McNair stable.

The other division was won by the late pocket-popping Gaming Queen ($13.80), who upset the favoured Sue Anne to break her maiden in her 28th career start with Nick Boyd catch-driving for trainer Blake MacIntosh.
