Monmouth Bidding Process Appealed

Just when most thought the fight over the operational aspect of Monmouth Park was all finalized, a report out of New Jersey has explained that the thoroughbred raceway's May 3 start date could be in jeopardy

.

An article by Bob Jordan in the Asbury Park Press has said that John Brunetti, who was unsuccessful in attempting to land operating control of Monmouth Park, will appeal to the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority early next week and will cite unfair treatment during the bidding process.

The report has cited a filing by Paul P. Josephson --- a member of the law firm representing Brunetti --- as saying that “the rules were changed dramatically to accommodate” the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association during its negotiation with the NJSEA.
