Linda Arthur Passes

In loving memory of Linda Arthur

Former Standardbred Canada member Linda Ruth Arthur (Beamish) passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024 at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, with family by her side, after an extended illness with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She was in her 73rd year.

Linda was survived by her loving husband, Douglas Arthur. Loving mother of Christine (Philip) and Ellen (Andrew). She loved her grandsons Dylan, Bruce and Finn so much. Dear sister to Robin (Barb). She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her son, Stuart, and her parents, King and Dorothy Beamish.

After growing up in Toronto, she moved to Norwich, Ont. with her husband Doug where they raised their family at Oxford Meadows, a Standardbred training and breeding facility. Linda went on to become Chairman of K.J. Beamish Construction for many years.

Linda’s virtue was her personality. She loved oldies music and a good card game with a competitive spirit. Her greatest joy was her family, her husband, kids and grandsons who miss her so deeply. Linda truly was one of a kind.

Family will be having a private family service at the Bookton Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please, donations in memory of Linda, may be made to the West Parry Sound Health Centre.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Linda Arthur.
