Leamington Plans Bob McIntosh Tribute Day

Leamington Raceway will host a heartfelt tribute in memory of the esteemed local trainer Bob McIntosh on Sunday, Aug. 25. This special event will commemorate McIntosh’s significant contributions to harness racing and his lasting impact on the entire horse racing community.

McIntosh, who passed away last month, was a revered figure in the harness racing world, known for his exceptional training skills and his dedication to the sport.

The tribute will include a range of activities such as a memorial race and blanket presentation, tributes from McIntosh's family and friends as well as a memorabilia and photo display, along with a video presentation. Popular analyst and commentator Robert Reid Jr. will be on hand for commentary and interviews throughout the day.

The Bob McIntosh Memorial race will feature Preferred trotters, with a purse of $6,000 consisting of some of the best trotters in the region.

Leamington Raceway invites all local residents, racing enthusiasts and friends to join for this special day of remembrance and celebration. The event will be a fitting tribute to McIntosh’s enduring legacy and a chance for the community to come together in his honour. Post time is 1 p.m.
