Massedonia Tops Prospect Series At Georgian
Sent off as the bettor's second choice at 8-5, Massedonia emerged atop the $8,000 Prospect Series leg which highlighted the eight-race Sunday (Aug. 18) card at Georgian Downs.
Leaving from post two, driver Travis Henry settled Massedonia in third as Teatrix (driven by Tyler Jones) led to the quarter in :31.3. Sunday Shoes (Scott Young) took command from second to lead to the half in 1:03.2. After gapping on the final turn, Massedonia found his best stride in the lane to track down Sunday Shoes and reach the line a half-length in front in 2:04.
Trained by Dale Fritz who co-owns along with Edward Acheson, Massedonia has won two of five starts in his rookie campaign. The gelded son of Muscle Mass-Penetangore has hit the board in four of five and has banked $9,960.
The win was one of two on the day for driver Travis Henry.
