The participating drivers have been announced for the 44th Annual Charity Driver's Challenge to close out Clinton Raceway's 15-week, 2024 harness racing season.

On Sunday, Sept. 1, race fans will say farewell to another season of harness racing at the Huron County oval with the annual driver's challenge. This year will once again feature the top six dash-winning drivers in Canada plus the top two from Clinton.

James MacDonald, Travis Henry, Garrett Rooney, Samuel Fillion, Travis Cullen and defending Charity Driver's Challenge champion Tyler Borth will join J Harris and Todd Ratchford as the eight drivers competing in this year's challenge during the day's 10-race card. All drivers will be donating their fees from the day to three local Royal Canadian Legion branches. The Clinton, Seaforth and Exeter branches will be on hand raising funds.

In addition to the 50/50 draw and silent auction happening trackside, the day will also have the final chicken BBQ under the current grandstand. With a new facility slated to open for racing in 2025, this dinner will close out a 47-year history of race day dinners. Tickets for the Pineridge half chicken dinner are $25 (with $10 from each ticket being donated to the branches) and can be reserved by contacting Jessica Carnochan at Clinton Raceway at [email protected].

Ontario Sires Stakes two-year-old filly pacers will be featured on track and Clinton Raceway will honour all caretakers as part of Standardbred Canada's National Caretaker Appreciation Day.

Arrive early to take part in the Driver's Challenge Challenge for the chance to win up to $500 and stick around following the day's card to take in the RCMP Musical Ride, hosted by REACH and the Bayfield Agricultural Society.
