Cold Snaps Cool In Mohawk Feature

Cold Snaps

Cold Snaps maintained her composure and kept cool to snag a win in the $23,000 conditioned trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Jody Jamieson eased Cold Snaps off the gate, but the pair did not back off completely as they pedaled forward. A gap opened up along the pylons and the Blake MacIntosh student found place in sixth through the quarter in :27.2 and half in :56. Favoured Top Mast (Sylvain Filion) was the first on the move, followed by Mass Hysteria (Trevor Henry) and then Cold Snaps.

Top Mast kept on pushing through the three-quarters in 1:25 while Mass Hysteria and Cold Snaps followed the cover. The field fanned out four-wide and Cold Snaps closed sharply down the center of the track to win by a length in 1:53.1. Stablemate Southern Moni (Tyler Borth) snagged second and Mass Hysteria rounded out the top three.

A winner of four races in 10 starts this year, Cold Snaps (Six Pack-Winter Sweet Frost) pushed his career tally to 7-2-1 and lifetime earnings to $106,970 in 21 starts. MacIntosh and Tim Klemencic co-own the three-year-old filly. She paid $11 to win as the 5-1 third choice.
