Atlantic Sires Stakes Continue For Old Home Week
With two impressive starts behind him to start his career, Malevolent will make his Charlottetown Driving Park debut in Atlantic Sires Stakes action on Wednesday evening during Old Home Week.
The Wednesday program has 13 dashes starting at 6 p.m. Two-year-old pacing colts will headline the mid-week Atlantic Sires Stakes action following Tuesday's trotting action.
Malevolent takes his undefeated record into the eighth race 'A' division and will start from post four goign for a $15,480 purse. Paul Langille trains and drives the son of Malicious for owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille of Nova Scotia. The younger brother to Atlantic champion Malignity, Malevolent has scored open-length victories in his first two starts in a P.E.I Colts Stakes at Summerside Raceway and his Sires Stakes debut at Truro Raceway. His chief rivals are slated as Sergeant Crowley (Marc Campbell) and Windemere Joel (David Dowling).
In the other $15,480 'A' division in Race 12, All My Lovin (Dowling) rides a trio of second-place finishes into post three from the Earl Watts barn. The son of Malicious is co-owned by Windemere Farms, Brian and Ira Wallach Racing, Debbie Denney and Clive Balderston. The next two favoured in the morning line odds are Abiding Art (Kenny Arsenault) and Here On Earth (Adam Merner).
The program also has $6,000 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'B' divisions for rookie pacing colts in Races 2, 4, 6 and 10.
