Leaving from post position No. 3 in a field of seven, Andy Roo, the even-money favourite, grabbed the pocket in the early going behind fast-starting Big Bay Point. Those two stayed in the first and second spots all the way into the stretch, but the hot fractions got the best of the leader late, allowing Andy Roo, with Jim Morrill Jr. in the bike for trainer Mark Kesmodel, to upend Big Bay Point by a neck in 1:50.4. Meant To Be Me finished further back in third.
Andy Roo, who won in the same class of winners of over $25,000 lifetime in his last start at Chester, won for the fourth time in 12 races this season. The seven-year-old gelding, who was sired by The Panderosa, now has 31 career victories and lifetime earnings of $640,853.
There was also a winners of over $25,000 lifetime trot held at Pocono on Saturday night, also carrying a $25,000 purse. In that race, Cassis, with Joe Pavia Jr. driving for trainer Ray Schnittker, scored a come-from-behind victory at 11-1 in 1:54.3. Sand Top Gun finished second and Definitely Mamie picked up the show.
